STORY TIME: THE TIME MY TODDLER LOCKED HIMSELF IN HIS BEDROOM

It's actually been quite a while since i posted anything. In fact, the last post I was still pregnant. My son is about to turn 2 in January!! TIME FLIES!

Anyway, I thought It would be nice to come back and while I'm at it, share a funny incident that happened yesterday.

It was a day like any other, my son and I woke up early, had breakfast, watched some cartoons, etc. At around 9:30 AM he started playing with some of his toys, and he was running back and forth around the house, while I was distracted with something that honestly I cant remember what it was. All of a sudden I hear a door close, and I run to go open it and tell him to leave it open. When I get to the door and try to open it.... it was locked. I immediately had a little inner freak out, but I remained calm because I didn't want to show him that Momma was a little scared. My mom has always told me the story that when I myself was little, I also accidentally locked myself in a room, and she would always tell me how she freaked out, but kept her composure and helped me unlock it. The funniest part was that my son was not alone in the room, my dog was also in there trapped with him, and strangely enough, that brought some comfort to my heart knowing that his fur sister was in there with him.

I grabbed a bobby pin, and calmly tried to unlock the door with it, but it wasn't working. When I noticed that my son was fine, and playing in there, I went on trusty YouTube, and searched "How to unlock a door". Sure enough, YouTube never fails, you can learn just about anything on there. The video told me to grab a small screw driver, small enough that it would fit the hole in the knob. I went to my husbands tool box and found one. It did run through my mind to call my husband and let him know the situation, but the moment I had that thought, I also knew that there was nothing he could've done. He was at work. I got the screwdriver and told myself I could do this on my own.

I went and practiced on the bathroom door first, because its the same type of knob and lock that is on his room. I got the bathroom door open in 3 seconds. His room was a little tougher though. Meanwhile, keep in mind that my son was worry free playing in his room, not really caring that he was locked in there. While I was trying to open it with the screwdriver, I would also ask him to open it for me. He didn't know how to though. After about 10 minutes of trying and almost quitting and calling my husband, I did it! I felt proud of myself because through it all i remained calm, and did it all by myself. I pulled my son by the door and the lock, and I taught him how to lock it and unlock it, so that just in case it happens again, hopefully he'll know what to do. This incident reminded me that that's what it's been like being a momma for almost 2 years. I had to learn to have a lot of patience, and remain calm.

I'm planning on posting here more often, but it's gonna have more of a motherhood/toddler/lifestyle feel to it rather than fashion/beauty. So if you're a momma like me, or not, but just like the topic of motherhood, follow me here. I also post a lot on Instagram so follow me there too! :)

Pregnancy Diary- 22 & 23 Weeks

So here is another pregnancy diary, and this time I'm doing 2 weeks combined because I didn't post last week.

I'm currently at 24 weeks, so I'm gonna write about weeks 22 and 23.

Both weeks were pretty similar. My crazy appetite is still there, and these weeks I noticed that I was going more for sweets then anything else.

I've been on a busy schedule in between work, and school, and studying, and cleaning the house (which I seem to want to do everyday), but on week 23, my husband, dog, and I went for a walk at a near by park.

My bump definitely got bigger, and almost if not everyone notices that I'm not alone now.

My husband and I are in the process of finding another place to move to, as our lease expires in November. I can't wait to move, and de-clutter, and organize. I'm definitely in a nesting faze, and I must admit, I kind of like it. ;)

I've also started to think a lot about baby shower ideas, and what I want to do, and how I want my baby shower to be. Maybe I'll do a different post with only this subject, but I've been researching a lot, and coming up with some great ideas.

I can't forget to add here that Liam's movements are getting a lot stronger and more frequent, and sometimes I even feel as if he responds to my touch, as if he's playing with me. It's so cute. <3

Wishlist: Hunter Rainboots

I've been wanting rainboots for a while now.

After a lot of research, I found that these Hunter rainboots are perfect! Being that I live in Florida, I can wear them on winter AND summer, since it rains here every afternoon on summer.

It was hard to choose which one I wanted since they have a variety of colors, styles, and textures (matte and glossy), but I really liked the one above.

What do you think?? I can't wait to get them! :)

Pregnancy Diary- 21 Weeks

Here is my overview of week 21! :)

So at 21 weeks, baby Liam is the length of a carrot, and weighs about three-quarters of a pound!

This week I definitely felt A LOT of movement, and everyday that goes by, the movements get stronger. This week actually, my husband and I were able to feel a little kick!

I'm starting to show more and more, and the best part of my days are when random people notice that I'm pregnant and aren't afraid to ask about it. I love it when they notice! :)

Week 21 came with a reaaaally big appetite, which I love. Everything sounds good to eat, and it seems like everything tastes 100x better. The other day I had cotton candy, and to me, it was the best cotton candy I've ever had in my life! haha This week also came with sleepiness. At around 5pm, my body sorta starts to shut down, and all I want to do is close my eyes and take a nap.

Speaking of naps, I've been trying to take one, or at least just lay in bed and rest a little everyday. It's almost become a little routine. Me, Liam, and Nala (my dog), we go tot he room, lay in bed, I put on a lullaby close to my belly, and we all fall asleep.

I'm really keeping a close eye on my skin, because I've noticed some light stretch marks on the side of my legs and hips. I've been using a moisturizer and a oil on top everyday. ( I will try to do a review of those). My belly thank God is clear of stretch marks, and I'm trying to keep it that way.

I've been feeling overwhelmed the past couple of days because I feel like there is so much to do, in so little time, but I'm trying to stay cool, and take one day at a time.

And here is my belly shot of the week:

Nursery Ideas for Baby Boys!

So I'm half way through my pregnancy, I know the gender of my baby (Boy), and now all I want to do is get his room ready! I do so much research in what I want his room to look like, and I find so many cute ideas it becomes overwhelming sometimes!

I have a vision in my head of what I want his room to look like, and researching did help A LOT!

Here are some cute ideas I found:

A "Sports" theme is a really good idea for a little boys room, especially because you can play around with all types of sports, like in the pictures, or just sticking to one. I thought that top nursery picture was adorable. Click here

This is probably one of my favorite themes because you can't ever go wrong with color. I you're not too good at picking them, the just stick with traditional boy:Blue girl:pink, but if you're feeling creative you can go way beyond that and try new colors out. I really like a soft grey on the wall, and then add pop of colors with the decorations.

I love this idea because even with a white plain wall, you can make your baby's room super cute with wall decor. You can be creative with anything such as quotes, pictures, the letter of their name, colors, shapes, etc. All those little details will not only serve as decoration, but it will also stimulate your baby's brain! :)

I'm waiting to move to start putting Liams room together, but I will definitely keep you posted on how it will look like. :)

Pregnancy Diary- 20 Weeks

I can't believe how fast the days are going, and the huge changes happening to my body.

I could say that starting at the 17th week, that's where I started to feel the most comfortable and "back to normal" as far as symptoms go. 20 Weeks was a breeze. No major discomforts, and I'm just enjoying my growing baby bump. I have a major appetite, which I love because first trimester I didn't even want to think about food. Speaking of food, I think it's very safe to say that I'm not over eating just because I have a little human inside of me. Obviously I eat enough for both of us, but I don't use the famous excuse of "I have to eat for 2". I've gained 6 pounds in total so far, which I think it's pretty good, and healthy. (I'm sure if it wasn't, but Doctor would've told me.)

As far as movements go, I started to feel very subtle flutters from Liam at around 18 weeks. So subtle that I would question if that was him or not. At 20 weeks though, I know for sure it's my little man moving. With each passing day, the movements become a little stronger, and now there is no doubt in my mind it's him. Also, with each passing day, I feel more and more connected to him, and I feel my love for him growing.

I'm at a point  where all I do is daydream about him. I can't help to wonder what he will look like. If he will be blond with green eyes like his father, or if he'll have my big brown eyes. Either way, I'm sure he will be adorable. <3

At 20 weeks baby Liam is suppose to be the size of a banana, and weirdly enough, I was craving banana splits this week as well. :)

Maternity Fashion for Fall

So just because you're pregnant, doesn't mean you can't dress cute. In my opinion, it's actually fun to dress up and show off that baby bump. I always hear many women who've been pregnant say "Enjoy your baby belly, because you'll miss it!" My bump is starting to grow, and it's more noticeable every day, and I already love it, and can't wait for it to grow more!

So if you're pregnant, treat yourself to a shopping day, and here are some inspirations to help you! :)
